About Podhigai TV : Doordarshan Kendra Chennai’s Regional satellite Network “DD-5”, was launched on 15h April, 1993. This service is viewed in India and some parts of the world. Later “DD-5″ has been taken a new identity in Tamil as Renamed as DD Podhigai on 15 January 2000.In a bid to take on competition from the flourishing private Tamil satellite channels, a new 24-hour Doordarshan Tamil channel on air on January 15, 2000.

I am Lakshminarayanan Ex-Bhelemployee residing in ranipet.I listened to Mr.Iraianbu. IAS interview to podigai both Vetrikkupinnal episodes and yesterday his message on the Buddha poornima.
They are very interesting and thought provoking. But Unfortuanately by oversight I cold not listen to them in full.
Therefore I request to explore the possibilty of it being rertelecast shortly duly sending me a mail as to the date and time of telecast.

i used to watch all ur programmes.i like the endrum inimai programme very much.the episodes of actor gemini ganesan,actress saroja devi and actress padmini were all wonderful.previously there was a programme called “kathai kathaiyam karanamam”.now it has been stopped.please continue that programme.thank u for ur service and entertainment

Long very long ago the news readers of Pothigai were pronouncing Thamil properly and beautifully, unlike other TVs owned by the so called exponents of Thamil who talk of Tamil culture etc. These TVs spoil Thamil as far as possible.
But I find nowadays even some of the new News readers in Pothigai pronounce thail very badly especially ‘ZHA, LA etc {( example Pazham as Palam, pulee (tiger) as PULI etc)} Tamil is a very old language and can stand on its own and has very few letters compared to many other languages and even then why thamilians pronounce it so badly? malayalm has large number of letters and they pronounce it properly especially ‘ZHA’ even though it was borrowed into malayalam.
So please advice these people ( your News readers) to correct. Once your own Andal Priyadarshini has read an article in Chemthamizh mahanadu about this. It was beautiful and well said.

useful programme for the public. Defenitely it carries useful message to young childern and also aged people. Especially Gita by Vellukkudi, asthough we are
with Lord Krishna.This is the only Tamil channel broadcasting geneuine programmes at present. Wishing u all a Happy 2011. Grow More.

First I would like to Congratulate Podigi for telecasting Bhavad Githa & Srimad Bhagavatham.I am in bahrain.I didnt know this telecast until to-day.Is it possible that i will be able to get cd’s of these telecasts & I will bear the costs.

i would like to bring ur kind attention to tamil programs,for the past yhree days i feel some techninical problem is going on in telecasting as the voice we receive do not tally with the lips movement of the logos.pl advise appropriate authorities to feel their responsibilities in tehnical aspects as how the private channels are competing, they are not wasting even a second. whereas dd channels are wasting minites together while changing programs.why can’t u encash the timings thro’ ads
